Ratification vote PASSED!

We are thrilled to announce that our membership has officially voted to RATIFY our new collective bargaining agreement with a 94.5% approval!
This accomplishment belongs to every single one of you. Whether it be doing the survey’s, participating in our strike vote, or just coming to check YES or NO today. Because we stood together, stayed informed, and showed our collective strength, we have secured a contract that is well above average according to CUPE national metrics.
Next Steps:
After Ratification is completed on the employer’s end. The union leadership will now work with the employer to finalize the signatures and begin the implementation process. Stay tuned for updates on when specific changes and retroactive pay will take effect.
Thank you to the 2026 Bargaining Committee members Megan McFall, Amber Schaefer, Shannon Regier, and Carrie Wood for their tireless hours at the table and fighting extremely hard for every inch we’ve gained this agreement and thank you to the membership for your solidarity. When we fight, we win!

New (temporary) location for union meetings

For our next union meeting, we will be located at the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre @ 180 College Ave N. The meeting will also be available via Zoom for members who cannot attend in person. Due to the logistics of secret ballot/voting, to participate in any votes you must be physically present for the meetings.

Brian Biggers Passing

Dear Members,
It is with profound sadness that we share with you the passing of our Union President, Brian Biggers.
Brian was instrumental in the formation of the union for the employees of Community Living Sarnia-Lambton, leading the charge with passion and determination. For over 20 years, he served as our president, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the rights and well-being of our members. His leadership and commitment ensured fair wages, workers and workplace protections, and that every member’s voice was heard.
Beyond his advocacy, Brian will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his ability to brighten any room with laughter. His loyalty to the Montreal Canadiens was unmatched and only surpassed by unwavering commitment and deep love for his family who were at the core of his heart.
As we navigate this difficult time, we ask that you keep Brian’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. We will share details regarding services, tributes, and ways to honor his memory as they become available.
Rest in power, Brian. Your dedication to Local 4370 and its members will never be forgotten and could never truly be repaid.
In Solidarity,
Local 4370 Executive Team
